I understand the ostopipion to Jumbo, I live in a town that is largely dependant on ski and golf tourism, which by the way isn’t really paying the bills for most people, thank god for Alberta, but the sudden declaration of a spiritual bear sanctuary after close to 20 years of the Jumbo process isn’t exactly true. Someone should be calling the Ktunaxa on this, maybe the Shuswap Indian Band who signed an agreement with the proponent and feel that the Jumbo environment can handle a permanent ski town. By the way when they say that non-Ktunaxa can use the area with their consent does this include the Shuswap who have claimed the area also? Now I don’t feel that we in the East Kootenays need another ski hill, not when the ones that are running are barely eeking it out, but lets stop the lies and misinformation and talk about the real issue. We don’t want the resort, we have enough ski hills, lets support what we have, taxpayers don’t want to pony up the cash for the infrastructure. Cut out the grizzly bear alarmism, it’s starting to become a bit redundant, kind of like the terrorism alert system in the States.
